About A.D.M.
Atlanta Discount Music has been Atlanta's home of tone since 1978. Whether caring for our beloved local clientele or big names such as Pearl Jam, NIN, Aerosmith, Drivin' n' Cryin', Elton John, The Black Crowes, Collective Soul, Cartel, Cirque Du Soliel, etc. A.D.M's attention is always focused on customer satisfaction and providing the very highest quality instruments and amplifiers at the lowest prices in town. We love trade-ins and your consignments are always welcome!
George Coats founded Atlanta Discount Music on Dresden Drive in 1978 (right where the Brookhaven MARTA Station now sits). The shop then moved to Clairmont road and now resides just around the corner on Peachtree, right behind the Paradise Cafe in the purple house you see to the right. George claims to have the first Marshall Plexi ever in Atlanta. As a teenager, his band Okra (said by some to be Atlanta's first local jam band) opened for Steppenwolf and received special acclaim from the Atlanta Journal. George paid his way through Georgia State by playing in the (back then) brand new Underground Atlanta nightly.
Page Waldrop is one Atlanta's longest tenured guitar salesmen, with over 30 years of experience. Page is our resident expert on vintage instruments and pedal steel. An in demand session player, Page can be heard on numerous recordings and with Atlanta stalwarts The Vidalias. He can currently be heard playing guitar and pedal steel with The Ghost Riders Car Club.
Jimmy Davis is a veteran of the Atlanta music scene. Jimmy is our "high gain" expert and can help you get the most out of our large selection of tube amps, from Diezel to Yorkville. Jimmy is also the go to guy for guitars with floating tremolos and pointy headstocks.
William Brooks is our in house luthier. You can check out Williams info on our luthier page.
